Restore all settings after update

hey i updated to gingerbread and got the messageing problem after updating manually....and now my i dont know how to restore all my settings.... my contacts came back but not apps any help will be appreciated

wipe the device and re-sync it. that is what I did and it worked just fine after that. Are you rooted by any chance?
