I had an LGV10. I got the bootloop issue and got a replacement...That one boot looped last night. Done with LG. I just bought a Samsung Note 8. A lot of data was restored through Google. However, my photos, videos, and password info from my password app did not. I backed up my LG with their bridge software on my computer but I cannot figure out how to get that info and data onto my new Samsung. I can find the backup file for my LG but it will not open. Can I just move that file to the Samsung? Will the Samsung be able to access that file and get my data from it if I just move it over? The LG is bricked...I have to get this data from my pc to my new Samsung.

Help!!!!

If you still have your LG use Samsung's SmartSwitch. Not all app data can be transferred, though. For that you need to use something like Titanium Backup, but you're better off with doing app fresh installs (and that's why app data should be cloud-backed up, but that's up to each app dev to implement). But for pictures, video, local files, texts, etc. SmartSwitch will do the trick.

Oh, just saw you have a bricked phone... damn. Well, unfortunately the LG backup file is only restorable to an LG phone, you can't just open the file and extract the data :( If you didn't have the files backed up to the cloud, I'd suggest taking the bricked phone to a repair center and see if they can get it to work without wiping the memory so you can back up.

Well, I was able to recover my password data from the app...had to purchase an upgrade but worth it. I am getting *most* of my pics from Google Drive...though their download process sucks. My contacts is restored from Google but it's still incomplete, which is weird. My calendar seems to have survived...LOL

It sucks that I cannot open that LG Backup file and pull stuff from it....
