Restore Messages whatsapp

Hey, I want to ask a question is important enough for me.
I deleted my posts WHATSAPP normally (select Message> Delete)
The police took me to the phone, they want to "explore it"
Do police has to access to the network to restore the messages WHATSAPP?

Do they already have the phone? If not, stick a pin on it for a start.
I'm not sure if you can delete the cloud backup for whatsapp from a location other than ygr phone though. Mine backs up to drive, but if I go on to drive I can't actually see the backup.
