Was this a nandroid restore or are you restoring from titanium?

In any event if you have rom manager installed, open it up and go to "fix permissions" but if it's really washed you may have some corrupted data somewhere.

i was restoring from rom manager the original backup file before I installed a rom.

I just tried to fix permissions and i get "error occured while attemptng to run privileged comnands"

That sounds like the ROM you're on now isn't rooted.

That's strange, in ROM manager are you choosing to wipe before restoring?

This nandroid that you're restoring now was just a rooted stock ROM?

I am noob-- but here is what i do

I do not see option to wipe before restoring in this area >>>

Rom manager>Backup and restore > manage and restore backups

i choose the rooted stock ROM, that I made after I rooted phone

Ah, alright, sorry that was my bad a choice to wipe is only for installing a zip from the sd card.

Alright, do you have a titanium backup of your apps?

i made one today -- but it may have been after this problem-- not sure

but i do have something

I am going out of town til SAT.

Any suggestions I really appreciate- as my next step will be to do a hard reset ??

I would bring that thing back to stock and start over and use titanium to restore your apps. I'm not sure what the issue is but it sounds like some data is corrupted somewhere.

Even if you flash an RUU and return to an unrooted phone you're still going to have to setup from scratch, why not flash a stock rooted ROM and set that up so you can keep root and worry about the nand restore piece AFTER the vacation?

i just reinstalled fresh evo rom -- which worked-

then used rom manager to restore my nandroid but i still have same problems

i am back--

whats the difference between a factory reset and a RUU

worry about the nand restore piece AFTER the vacation

So is there hope for my nandroid or not?

this is where I am now...

did a factory reset

and

3.26.651.6 is on phone now--

the phone tried to do a OTA update tp 3.29.651.6 but it failed-- so I learned that OTA won't update on a rooted phone.

So I guess my nandroid is fubarred ( f'ed up beyond repair) ????
