Restoring CWM backup to another device

Should restoring a full CWM backup from one device onto another (e.g. if you exchange a faulty Nexus for a new one) work fine? Is there anything else to do on the new device, other than: unlocking, rooting, flashing CWM recovery, and then restoring from the backup?

Nope there is nothing more to do rather than unlocking,rooting, flashing the CWM recovery and then restoring the backup. Keep yourself working towards it.
