I wonder why it is taking so long for this thing to hit the retail stores (except Sprint).. emailed and got a canned response.

They're being quiet about it. Only known physical defect I've read about is the top speaker grille mesh being assembled incorrectly on early units. Perhaps they caught this in production and had to make an entirely new run of devices.

I was curious if anyone has had luck finding these in store. I know others have said Sprint has them on display, but didn't know if that is every store or not. I'm more likely to go to Best Buy to look, but haven't heard if they are on display. I know their website (BestBuy) still shows it as "Coming Soon".

Call around to the sprint stores, I have seen a few reports of people buying them from sprint direct to use on other networks.
