Retail Purchase

Best buy hell story:
i want to best buy when vhs was still a big selling item and bout a brand new VCR yes i said a VCR im old shut up! so when i get it home i open the box and inside is a used VCR with the wrong controller wrong brand everything and there was a tape stuck inside. So i return to best buy and go to return it
i get to the counter and tell the lady what happened and she tells me after i ask for a full refund that there is a restocking fee so i ask for a manager. He takes the VCR in the back and comes back insisting that i pay a restocking fee and i start cursing him to give me my money and making a seen
so he finally breaks and gives me a refund as i turn and walk away he says sir our tec opened the VCR and got your Porno tape out he said this as loud as he could without yelling so all the customers could here him i took the porno and my full refund and never shopped at best buy again:-$

Quit complaining... you got a free porno and your money back... sounds like it was worth it. :p

Also, try and avoid HHGregg!! The Verizon 3rd party retailer Total Cellular Connection has Verizon phones at about $150 or more in retail. Right now, there selling the Charge for $899.

I believe cosco has the best return policy. I'm sure someone will chime in on the subject shortly....
Costco has a 14 day return policy and you can switch devices or full refund. After that, you have 90 days to return for exchange (for a new device, not refurb). After that, you deal with carrier as usual. Just happened to be in Costco this weekend inquiring (lol) :).....

I was not aware of this? 30 days at best buy includes Phones?

Only if you purchase the device outright do you get the 30-day (45 if you're reward silver) return policy. You upgrade, you only have 14 days. They're trying to keep everything in line with Verizon's return policy.

If you add a line(feature phone), I believe the expenses would be as follows,

New Line 9.99 with taxes 11.99
24mo x 11.99 = 287.76
Price of new device 299.99, $317(w/taxes @.06) assuming it will cost $299 at launch w/o rebates or discounts
Activation of new line $35
Total=$639.76

Or other scenario I thought was to activate a new line and then terminate it after
Activation $35
Device $317
ETF $375
Total $727
I was told that if you purchase a device at promo price and terminate your contract before a certain time period you are required to pay the difference of the retail and promo price (VZW rep)

Either way it looks to be a lose-lose situation for people who have to pay full retail...Maybe Radio Shack will spring a deal or Motorola directly maybe cheaper

you could always add a line, put on a basic phone as the line, and put on the bionic to your line

I got the new Droid when it came out, I then upgraded to the new Droid X when it came out. I had no upgrade available. I was going to do what you said but instead I found a loop hole!

I opened a new line and had the Droid X shipped to me. When i received it i opened and asked my self what would happen if instead of activating the DX on the new line I activated it on my original line? That's what I did. My OG Droid was disconnected and my new DX was working on my old line. Since I never activated the new line it never got assigned to my account. The new line I opened disappeared. I even went so far as to send in the receipt and coupon for the $100 rebate. I was sure they would catch my scheme when they issued me the $100 rebate. Nope, I got thew $100 rebate and never heard of the new line again.

Now that the Bionic is coming out I am eligible fort an upgrade and will get that when it comers out.

Not saying this will work for you, just saying it worked for me.

So they never assigned a phone number to the line that was supposed to be activated? I just upgraded my wife's account to a Charge and before they shipped the phone I had to listen to a 3 minute( I ordered on the phone with VZW) disclosure and agreement recording that I would assume all expenses and stuff for that line.

I'm envious, I wish I was that lucky and with a rebate! What a way to stick it to Verizon.

They assigned a phone number and I signed for the two year contract, but I'm guessing since no phone was ever activated on the line it never went through.
