Anybody know how to set the period of time an email is kept on the phone? This setting changed in the last week on my S4 and I can't find out why. Up until recently, I could read an email either on the phone or my PC and it would stay on the phone for 30 or more days. I could swear there was a setting to set the time period, but I'll be darned if I can find it. The auto-deleted email doesn't even appear in the trash folder on the phone. It now is no longer available the next time I open my email. But email I delete manually do go to the trash. This is for a POP3 account. My gmail accounts and my exchange account work properly. Help, please!

Someone posted a similar question on another forum and one of the suggested solutions was to switch from POP3 to IMAP. You might try that, if available with your email server.

While in Email: Menu -> Settings -> "account you wish to modify" -> More Settings -> Number of emails to load. Note that this setting works by total number from 25 to All. Showing the last XX emails may be more than some get in a month, while others may get this many in a week, so your experience will vary with using one of the preset numbers. The mail client offered a "Last XX Days" option on my previous phones, however I do not know if this is a change made by Samsung with the S4 or by Google with 4.2.
