I had some sort of virus that kept on putting adds on my phone no matter what I did to get rid of it the adverts kept on coming so thats why I did a factory reset now I have lost my pictures and videos

Hopefully you had backup set for Google photos. Check Google photos to see if they are there.

Welcome to Android Central! A factory reset wipes the data from the phone -- you knew that, right? It's always a good idea to backup or sync your important data before doing a factory reset.

If you weren't taking advantage of Google Photo auto-backup, as suggested by Kodak2, then you'd have to try data recovery software: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...os/500142-guide-recovering-deleted-files.html. If the photos were saved to Internal Storage (rather than an SD card), that makes it harder, because you have to root the device.
