the call quality on these phones is borked. great hardware otherwise. oh and they were touted as having GG3 which they don't.. infact the screens scratch very easily.

Some reviewers said it had gg3, it was NEVER advertised as having such! GG3 is pretty much GG2, just thinner..... You are in the minority on call quality from all opinios i have heard. Maybe a replacement was in order....

Call quality on mine (AT&T) is excellent. I've read about some Verizon owners hearing squelching on calls, but it were widespread I think we'd be hearing more about it. *shrug*

No issues with my calls.

Oh and....Good riddance..thanks or playing!!

good riddance? you are sad.

the call quality issue is wide spread and its a phone wide issue. some people just don't make phone calls.

^ That's never been reported in any review done on this phone. None. I've never had any issues and I do make lots of calls. Likewise, the vast majority of owners haven't either. I don't think only a few are making calls.

With that said, sorry you had this issue and if it was me having the issue, I'd have returned it too. Better luck next time with whatever you get.

Dude, you're sad. I don't get why people feel the need to come to forums and proclaim they are returning their phones. Who cares? Enjoy your next phone. That's the beauty of having choices.

By the way, read the forums. Call quality is not an issue.

T-Mobile version working great with calls. Sorry you had a bad experience.

+1 for you! I've has no issues. I feel as the happy G2 owners farrrr outweigh the upset owners.

Totally agree. It's not coincidence that as a phone gets more and more popular, the trolls (not saying the OP is one) come out and trash the phone with nonsense. The G2 could very well be the phone of the year. If anything, it's putting LG back on the map (or on the map).

Because it's a forum? To have conversations about phones? I don't understand why people get so **** hurt.

With that said, I also have poor call quality.

its called a warning to others. sorry your main priority is ignoring anything wrong with something you have the slightest vested interest in.

If your upset with call quality take the phone back you have 14 days. Switch over to iPhone 5s. That'll make your life so much easier. The iPhone 5s trumps every phone on the market. You'll be happy you switched. My G2 is rock solid no heat, no **** pour sound quality, truly best android phone I've had.

weird. my g2 on Verizon has amazing call quality. pretty much as good as my dna, and the people on the other end say it sounds like I'm on a landlines.

after 2 weeks with this phone I've had 0 issues. Call quality is superb and screen is flawless.

Rather than getting all worked up...even though I think OhAlfie was a little harsh why not ask others if they have issues? The general consensus most people have seen that are using the device have had nothing but great call quality, the reviews also reflect that. Is it possible there is something wrong with your phone?? Why not go return it with that complaint get a replacement and see if it happens again?

If you opted not to do the above I can see how someone may feel you simply are attempting to create some big thread out of nothing.

No issues with call quality on my end. It is possible that the OP got a bad device.

I can empathize with the OP if the issue is the same as mine, or as irritating, that I posted many times here about... unwanted digital special effects in your ear. I went through 3 G2's with the same issue (one of which also overheated) and the verizon store employees heard it on all three and agree it's messed up. It's almost maddening that others get to enjoy their G2 when I tried my best to get a working one, but I'm going to give up after 3. It's not worth the aggravation and verizon may not have let me exchange any more. Of course I've also tried 2 Moto X's also with defective mic, so 5 bad phones in a month is about my quota before going insane. I'm going to forget it for a while and appreciate my sluggish galaxy S but at least I can make phone calls and have two-way conversations with it. Also, my galaxy S almost consistently had 5-10 dBm better CDMA voice signal strength than the G2. At times I was shocked at how horribly low the signal level was. I didn't have any way of comparing the 4G signal though.

By the way I tried an iphone 5s in the store and I didn't think it was anything special, I thought the G2 (when it works) was better.
