Hello. As some of you may know, there is a bug with pop-up notifications when you remove the phone from the stand, it requires a re-start to gain pop-up notification functionality back.
Not only pop-up, but I also discovered, for those who don't use ambient display, when I get a notification, the display does not wake and it also requires a restart to gain functionality again if the phone has been placed on the stand before.
Another concern I have, is that if you have ambient display ON, the phone shifts the items displayed on the screen (like a few pixels per hour or so). This is there to prevent burn in. It is more noticeable if you let it sit for several hours, you will notice that the time (and any other items displayed on the screen) will **** position.
HOWEVER, I noticed that this does not happen when the phone is on the Pixel Stand charging. If this is the case, it could be a potential costly issue due to screen burn in.
Don't get me wrong. I think the Pixel Stand is an excellent idea and I see a lot of potential in the future, but until these issues don't get resolved, I will wait. Also, I cannot justify $80 for a wireless charger. Mainly I'll be using it during the night at my nightstand, and to me, it's not worth the price. I will just plug into USB-C power as I've been doing all this time, and I may consider picking up a Pixel Stand again once some of the bugs get nailed out.
