Couldn't spring for an iPad, so I got a Kindle Fire, and I really like it so far. Wanted to get a case on this thing as soon as possible even though it feels well-made, so I went for the Seidio ACTIVE since I have one of their cases on my Atrix. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. Here's my review:
Here is a picture of the case as it would look in you hand. Precise fitting skeleton goes over the [pretty thick, I must say] layer of silicone that protects your Fire from drops. The silicone is kind of a lint magnet initially, but the ACTIVE on my Atrix stopped being that way after a month or so. And one of those Swiffer sheets will take any dust right off. I like the finish on the skeleton...it's matte and has a nice grip, but won't stick to my hand if it's hot.
Here's everything separated. (I use a Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard too - my phone's has been on there for over a year and has yet to bubble, so I'm hoping this will go the same way...) The multi-purpose stand is the differentiator, I feel. The fact that it protects the screen in transit is huge for me since I just throw my Fire in a purse. Also, when you watch videos, the stand adjusts to one of many angles, which is helpful when you're battling with the glare of the sun or lying in bed.
Overall, a practical purpose. It does add some weight and bulk, so if you're sensitive to that, maybe look into other options, but if you're on the go and are more concerned about protecting your investment, this is a great choice.
