Rezound noob root question...

I have recently purchased a used Rezound off eBay to replace my Dinc. I have no inclinations at this time to unlock the bootloader or install ROMS. However, I would like to root the phone to run certain applications. Is there a way to permanent root without unlocking? Maybe Super-One-Click?

Nope, unlocking is the key to gaining permanent root. You can't even do temp root after the OTA. Zergrush was the only method working for the Rezound, now a combination of custom recovery and superuser market download is the only thing that works.

+1 to Mr. Smith
Also, I think if you unlock and root before the OTA and use Rootkeeper followed by the OTA, you can still keep root.
I'm wondering why many people are scared to unlock their phones, though.

Usually because they're not "computer people". I mean as simple as the directions seem to you and me, imagine if they were for a nuclear missile. I know I'm not a rocket scientist and although the directions are simple to someone that does it every day, to me it'd be greek. Though I'd still try it because I'm that type of guy lol.

Maybe everyone should just tag all unlocking directions with "THIS IS 99.999999999999999999999999999% SAFE. IT IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO BRICK YOUR PHONE DOING THIS" . Hey that's a better margin of error than birth control.

This is marketing that I can get behind. You might be able to sell bridges this way.
