Ringtone keeps changing back to default (AT&T Firefly)

I have a huge annoyance!
This problem has been happening to me eversince I had a Galaxy S5, so I know it has to be a Samsung software issue.

Whenever I change my ringtone to one of the other pre-installed ringtones, about 10 minutes later my ringtone changes back to the AT&T Firefly ringtone. I don't know what causes it to change. Has this happened to anyone and how did/can you fix it?

I have the Note 7, and that doesn't happen, so not sure this is a Samsung thing. However, since you're on AT&T and my phones have been T-Mobile-branded for a while, it COULD be an AT&T thing (remember, manufacturers tinker with 'pure' Android, carriers mess with manufacturer's versions). The only time I've seen ringtones changing is when you've moved apps or sounds to SD card and the card is either corrupted, moved, or something like that; when they system can't find the file, it reverts to default settings in internal memory.

Hmmm, it could be but idk how AT&T could cause that to happen, unless they secretly put it in the software so their ringtone can play each time my phone rings...for their advertising

I figured it out
It was an app "Audio Manager Pro" that was changing my default ringtone...fixed!

And that would explain why you've had it in previous phones, too! Glad you could get it fixed!

As to how AT&T could have borked it, it's because sometimes they introduce bugs (most of the time, inadvertently) when they make their own system customization/bloatware additions.

I have found that if you are using sound files for ringtones, notifications, etc it seems to work best if they are on the local device not in the storage card. On the Note 7 there are folders called "Ringtones" Notifications" "Alarms" I have copied my preferred audio files to these folders and had no issues.

I have the att note 7 "safe" version, and I have copied my tones to the correct device folders, and this phone still goes back to default ringtone after powering down and turning back on.
