Ringtone keeps reverting to "Lock" click

[Android Central Question]

For the past several weeks, my ringtone keeps reverting to the "Lock" sound, making it practically impossible to hear the phone ring. I'll change it to a standard Pixel Sounds ringtone, and it'll revert to "Lock" on its own later on.

Pixel 3 XL, latest Android, everything up-to-date. Thanks for your help.

I have Do Not Disturb on an overnight schedule that ends around 9 AM and I (rarely) set DND manually, the usual "for 1 hour"… so, no.

Oh , was going suggest safe mode but that be too long to be in it unless you have another device, Do you have any apps to change ringtones download?

I just reviewed my apps and have none that can change the ringtone. I did download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bestringtonesapps.oldphoneringtones a coupe of months ago, but quickly uninstalled it.

Check the file manager and see if it left any files behind?

Is there some way to search some system log for changes to the ringtone setting? (I am not rooted.)

Should look old telephone ringtones , that's the one you showed from Google play.

I uninstalled that app weeks ago. This week, I searched for "bestringtonesapps" in Internal Storage and nothing came up.
