ringtone

Hi guys, I can't seem to get an m4a ringtone to work even though it plays on the phone. It says the sound set is not working when I try and add it. Any suggestions?

Did you put it in the ring tone folder?

You could always convert it to mp3 and see if that works?

I put it in a folder within the ringtones folder.. could that be why?

That could easily be why. Just put it in ringtones without any containing folders and see if that works. I had thought that m4a rings would be able to be put anywhere, but for some reason it wasn't working unless i just put it in ringtones. Mp3s didn't seem to have that issue. Dunno why. That said, I wouldn't suggest converting it to mp3 because converting lossy format to lossy format could lose even more quality.
