Ringtones changing to default after reboot

I just noticed today that when I restart my phone the ringtones I've set for my contacts keeps changing to default after reboot and the alarm tone also changes. Why?

Are those, by any chance, stored in SD card? If so, that might be why they're changing... I believe the SD card is read after boot, so the ringtones wouldn't be accessible to the OS at boot and would then revert to default.

Yeah, I think I have to copy them to the phone.

Yep, copying the ringtones from the sd card to the phone fixed it. I knew this is what I needed to do, but I had a brain fart.

This is what will resolve the issue (If you have a copy on your device & sd card it may show up twice in the list but no matter what one you choose it should work and the setting remain active because of the local copy on the device)
