I just purchased a new Note 4 from Amazon last week for under $300. I checked today, and new Note 4 prices have doubled. I wonder what's gong on there.

Supply and demand?

Obviously, but at this time what is the demand really like, aside from a few of the enthusiasts here and there?

Not really sure what else you're looking for. For the particular seller, stock probably got low and prices rose as a result of it.

It's one of the last phones with a removable battery. Personally I wouldn't even buy one today, it's no longer receiving security updates of any kind. It's also starting to show its age.

Samsung is making them NEW or they're refurbished in Plano, Texas? That's asking for trouble.

Samsung doesn't sell the Note 4. Had a friend try a replacement on his insurance. They claimed to have none in stock. That said, $800 sounds like fantasy land.

Note 4 prices have crashed through the floor on Ebay and Craigslist.

Between 100-150 you can get one in mint condition, sometimes new.

It's a 4 year old phone that has been superseded by Note 5, 6, 7 8 and soon to come Note 9. (Samsung S9 has already come out FWIW)

I got a NIB Note 4 for $279 and that was 1.5 years ago. There is no way I would pay that now, got one for 115 on Ebay.
