roaming question

I'm in VA. and I am not able to get data on my phone. I pay for the "no roaming" . I can get phone and text here on the Verizon network but no data. I think it normally works here, when I was here before. Is there a way to check to see if there is something wrong with my phone? I checked the setting data is turned on, airplane is off. I'm running a custom 4.1.2 rom.
