At some point I downloaded the app APK Pure. In the past few hours, something was running in the background and using up the battery and making my phone sluggish and warm. So sluggish it made my phone unusable. I went into the battery settings and saw that the app APK Pure was using up the battery. I haven't used it in a long time. So I uninstalled it and it totally fixed my S23 ultra.
Just a reminder to check the apps on your phone periodically for ones that might be running in the background and using up the battery. Just an FYI, I turned off sleeping apps and deep sleeping apps so this may have caused it to run in the background unbeknownst to me. I had some issues with apps that I don't want to deep sleep even though I don't open them that much. I will probably go in and manually change the ones that I'm ok with sleeping.
