Roll back to 7.0 for a sale?

I may be over thinking this but would appreciate some input.
Just purchased an S8+ (yup, wanted the bigger screen). Going to sell my S8 which is currently running Oreo Beta.
Was going to offer buyer the option of keeping it on Beta or have me roll it back to Nougat. Thought being on Oreo Beta might be a plus for the sale. Then started thinking...
Is the Beta tied to me and my Samsung account or to the phone/IMEI?
Don't want to leave the buyer in a lurch if I sell with Beta and they are unable to roll back or get the official Oreo OTA.
Like I said, probably making it more complicated than it is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This is too weird. I just sold my S8 to get an S8+ myself! I didn't roll back the phone I just did a hard reset. I didn't really think there would be any problem. I don't see why there would be any issues with the official update but I don't know that for sure. I removed all the security measures (pin and fingerprints) and then removed my all my accounts including my Google account, then did a hard reset. I sold my S8 to a friend and he has it working without issue.

I set up my Samsung account on the plus and haven't seen or received any messages regarding the beta so I'm guessing it's not an issue. I was secretly hoping Samsung would offer me the beta on the S8+. :)

My guess that if its an unlocked device and all the numbers are clean it *should* be eligible for the official release.

I would have unenrolled the phone from the beta.

Then wait till March for S9+. And get by on backup phone.

Yeah unenrolling the phone from the beta does sound like a better idea. I guess I should have gone that route.

LOL... Great minds think alike!
Since I'm not selling it to someone I know, think I'll just unenroll in Beta and roll the phone back to 7.0.

Don't have the money to spend on the S9, nor do I think I would even if I had it. Just wanted the bigger screen and got a really good price. Very happy with purchase.

That is probably what I should have done but because I am friends with him I can help him out if need be. Very happy with my Plus so far.

Yeah the added battery life is the only reason I switched to the plus variant. But sigh...even with that I'm not content with it, especially with what I'm getting on Oreo. Regardless, since you switched from the smaller variant, you'll definitely notice the improvement.

It'll be a while before you get used to the added efforts to reach the FPS, on the S8 it was a non issue. Try getting a case that has different cutouts for the camera and FPS, that will make it easier to distinguish.

Yes I do notice the bump in battery life. Wasn't sure if that was the phone itself or just not being on Oreo anymore. My main reason was the screen size, so I'm happy with that. Will look at cases with the cutouts for camera and FPS. Have a cheap one I picked up just for some protection until I choose the one I want.
Appreciate the input.

I did notice the extra battery life right off the bat. I was surprised that I saw a noticeable improvement. I haven't had any issues with the FPS as long as I have case on it. Without a case it's nearly impossible to locate. I have an Otterbox Symmetry case being delivered today and I'm hoping it's a winner.

I have a sandstone case. Does provide minimal drop protection but it's really grippy. Plus it's a minimal case with separate fps and camera cutouts, makes reaching the fps fairly easy.

I'm looking for something to bridge the gap between thin and light and drop protection. I had an Otterbox Defender on my S8 which was great protection wise but bulky. The Symmetry case seems good so far. I'll check out the Sandstone.

The Symmetry case looks very similar to my backup Luvvitt case. I agree, it does provide drop protection despite being thin. The only reason I'm not using mine yet is because of the no separate partition for the fps and camera. I almost always end up touching the camera when trying to wake up the phone.

I've used spigen tough armor for several phones and really like it. To me it's a good middle between protection and a thin case. Plus a decent kick stand that's flush with the case.

Still getting used to feel in hand. S8 was perfect. No regrets though, as the bigger screen and improved battery are absolute wins for me.
Oddly enough, no issues with FPS but keep hitting the wrong place for the power button.
Anyway, loving it.
Deregistered from Beta and rolled back to 7.0 last night on my S8 to get it ready for sale.
