Rolled my Nexus 7 back to 4.4.4 , didn't install 5.0.2; will i get OTA update to 5.1?

After poor performance from Lollipop 5.0 I rolled my 2012 Wifi 16G N7 back to KK 4.4.4 and have been very happy with it. When the OTA for 5.0.2 showed up I didn't install it (I look at the notification every day and shake my head.....).

Now that 5.1 has been released I'm wondering whether I will get it OTA w/o installing 5.0.2 or whether I have to install that version first, or will I only be able to get it by flashing it directly from the Google Developers site? I intend to wait until there is some feedback on this new version before installing it, but I'm wondering if/how I'll get it.

From what I have read here in these forums yes you will. Go to setting > about tablet > system updates > check for updates.

The setting > about tablet > system updates > check for updates screen has said for several weeks that 5.0.2 is ready for download, but I have been ignoring it and running 4.4.4 after rolling back from 5.0.

The OTAs that I've seen posted so far for N7 WiFi are for 5.1 LMY47D from 5.0.2 LRX22G. Given that I have been ignoring the notification that 5.0.2 has downloaded and is ready for install, do you think I will see a 5.1 OTA? Or will I have to install 5.0.2 first, or alternatively just flash 5.1 factory image? I've only ever once flashed, out of desperation to get rid of 5.0, and although I got it done it wasn't as straightforward as I had hoped. I'd also prefer not to lose all my data and have to start from scratch if I can avoid it, nor do i want to have to install and live with 5.0.2 for too long.

So, a 2 part question: Will a 5.1 update notice appear if i haven't installed 5.0.2 or is there a way to flash 5.1 image w/o data loss? (I left my bootloader unlocked after the rollback).

For the first part of question, I do believe so. For the second part of the question, yes you can flash with WugFlash if has a "No Wipe Mode".
