ROM Manager question with recovery mode.

When my phone boots in recovery there is an error:

E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Any ideas or help?

Did you flash the Odin CWM recovery file. if not just downloading rom manager will not work.

Well I feel dumb I didn't do that! I'm a big ole noob with this. how would I go about this? I'm sorry for the noobness!

No don't feel dumb we have all/ well most have done this, i certainly have use this file

Im too a noob and been reading quite abit, majority of the guide from DroidXcon are really easy to follow. I used his 1-click method and its super simple..
I love the helping attitude of this community..
Just working up the courage to go to the next step after rooting.

Next up cwm, then Rom Manager, back up. Then maybe if im brave enough I will try flashing.. I want vzw crap gone..

I did install Launcher pro and now I have google search..getting better.

if you've done your research and you know what to do AND what to do if it doesn't work then GO 4 IT! It's actually very easy as long as you follow directions EXACTLY.

And if you make the appropriate backups beforehand you're pretty safe and don't have to worry too much.

And by all means, if you're not sure on a step/procedure, ASK somebody for clarification BEFORE you do it. You'll be glad you did.
