ROM Manager v5.0.0.7 HELP

Ok so I was able to get my ROM make back up etc, and the phone is working like a champ.

I want to flash the radio upgrade, opened ROM manager, and it freezes. uninstalled, reinstalled, flashed, still have the same issue.

Rebooted into recovery, tried to do a backup that way and ROM once again froze. battery pull to reboot the phone. What am I missing? is there another program to use?

I had a similar issue but I noticed that when I went to flash cwm in rom manager I was already up to date with a more current version. Mine would also hang up at the end of the process and then force close. Now I don't even use rom manager, just reboot into recovery from the power menu flash or backup from there. I do however use RM to rename my backup files. Anyway hope this helps.

ROM manager is just a "noob" way to use the recovery. If you want to go into your recovery for settings either use your OS (like rebooting into recovery via power off menu) or when you phone is off boot up holding vol up and down and power and scroll using volume keys to recovery and hit power button to go there. Best way to do it. I use to use ROM manager and I haven't anymore, I have issues with it as well so now there is no need for it, just flash the recovery files yourself with ADB, really easy.

I assume in the clockwordmod folder on your sd, same as CWM recovery.

I use rm every day. I flash mods, roms, zipthemer files etc with the install rom from sd card button. Works good.

I use cwm for some of my flashes, but i still flash manually just so i remember how to in case i run into problems with cwm

I know lots of folks hate rm and recommend to stay the hell away from it. I know very well how to use and navigate cwm, its that rm just automates everything. It does the dalvik and data wipe when you tell it to and does the flash, and reboots with NO input in cwm. I really like the ease of use.

So I may be one of the few defenders of rm around here, but I just plain like it. I am one of the heavy modders and I use rm for all of my flashes. Use it at least 3 or 4 times a day. Hasn't failed me. It may have been crap on other phones, but on the galaxy nexus, it is solid.

I can see 2def cringing.

What are the differences from
cwm touch? I loaded that up due to the button touchiness of the normal. Like it much better but noticed twrp was an option too.

RM can no longer reboot my phone, which makes what little I used it for pointless. Stuff like this always seems to happen to it, which is why it gets a bad rap. I paid for it, so feel entitled to point out problems
