I have a sgh-i317 note 2 rooted and I flashed CyanogenMod 10.1.3-rc1-n1700 ROM which I guess was wrong. Kernel 3.0.64-cm-ge8aa6a7. Now I have no at&t service no 4 g or calls or text. I have tried to flash another ROM without sucess. I have tried to install factory firmware no success. Did this ROm change my model number. Can I just change the settings to get the phone to recognise my sim? I'm not even sure if I'm asking the right questions any help will be appreciated

Welcome to the forums!
Did you do a backup before you flashed CM?
COuld you also link to the files you downloaded?

I thought I backed up but now when I do a factory rest I end up back in the modded ROM. I downloaded the zip from cyrogens website. I will try to link file.

Can you charge it?
Next get it up to 70%
Reflashing your stock ROM may be what can revive the phone.
Yes I can charge. Im just not sure about the stock ROm. Do I search for my original model number. Or the model number that it was changed to. And do you mean flash in recovery mode or from a computer in Odin. I know Im a beginner and am asking a million questions. Should of just counted myself lucky for rooting safely and not pressed my luck. Thanks for your help. I have spent 9 hours reading and trying to get someone to even respond to my ?s

Go here: Firmware archive | Samsung Updates

Try to flash through ODIN.
You may need to extract the ROM with 7Zip.
This site takes a while to download. Like about an hour. No matter your download speed. I have 20 Mb/s and still tkaes an hour.

Look for you original model number.
This method will break root. But right now, you need a phone.

Thanks again. And I will try flashing tommrow when I get off work. I'll keep you posted. One more question even though I probably don't want the answer. You say I need a phone ? Like I may of caused unrepairable damage to this one ?

In reference to you need the Note unbricked. I am guessing it's your only phone.

If you can get into Download mode or recovery, you should be fine. If not. there is a problem.

OK.

Success! I unbricked saved my root and flashed paranoid android 3.9.9 kernel 3.0.64-cm-g8de92a flashed with Odin mobile pro. I had to use mobile since my computercouldn 't handle the download of a stock firmware. Only issue I have now is I only have 3 g Internet. I have backed up with cwm. Thanks again for your support.
