Installation

If CWM ask you to 'Disable Recovery Flash' after install, select no ! It will remove the files needed for the init.d support.

Please do not restore a 'system' data backup as it would overwritte some important files

Easy Way

  • Use JROMFlasher (Click here) to wipe your data, flash custom recovery, upload my ROM

Hard Way

  • Require Custom Recovery
  • Copy the ROM to the root of your SDCard (/sdcard).
    - You can copy/paste it from Windows Explorer.
    - You can download the ROM from your device. It will be generally located in /sdcard/downloads
    - You can use ADB : 'adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/' for Windows and Mac/Linux : './adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/'
  • Boot into Recovery
  • Wipe all cache and userdata
  • Flash the ROM from custom Recovery

Need help installing Rom for N7

Follow your instruction, and install Rom using "hard way " with cwm, reboot and get stuck in boot loop.Only way to get out of boot loop is pressing power and volume down which take me to Fast boot mode(select start =boot loop, fast boot and recovery option turn red:not selectable, other option is power off);if I select recovery option it take me to google unlock screen and sit there.
I probably did something wrong, please help.
How do I get to cwm recovery?

Glad I am not the only one with this problem. I, also, had this bootloop issue. I ended up following this quide http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-7-rooting-roms-hacks/191477-guide-factory-image-restore-your-nexus-7-a.html and flashed back to stock. This will get you back to a workable tablet.

Re: [ROM][Oct.5] SmoothROM v3.1 - Smoothest ROM - Deodex - Zipaligned - Tablet UI Support

ok it just crashed on me and just went to a blank screen. now i cant seem to turn it on. it was on 90% battery life too. the last thing i did was install an app from my desktop on google play and did a remote install and it all of a sudden blanked screen on me. hopefully its not bricked. holding volume + power isnt working neither.... let me know if anyone else is having the same issues.

------------

ok plugged it into a computer and it detected it but i dont see anything on the screen. now its working, i had to power it off by holding the power down for at least 10-20 seconds. as the touch screen was functional as i hear tap sounds. very odd.

Re: [ROM][Oct.5] SmoothROM v3.1 - Smoothest ROM - Deodex - Zipaligned - Tablet UI Support

Hi,

If you get stuck in a boot loop it is only because you didn't read or didn't want to listen to it. :( When it says wipe cache/data, it is really there because you HAVE to wipe it.

For your wake issue, it is alright, just hold power 10 sec and it is going to reboot. The issue is caused by bricked kernel but there is an update for it :) I suggest you to install the update while I update it from my ROM. Working for brining 4.1.2 :)
