ROM switch boot loop problem

I've been running a stock deodexed version of Froyo until today. I wanted to try GB, so I went with Synergy.

All with Synergy seems to be working fine, but I wanted to grab some sound files that were included with the VZW Froyo ROM (and didn't know how to do it any other way, other than to revert back to Froyo, find and copy the files to SD card for safekeeping).

After reinstalling the Froyo (I cleared the cache x3, and also the Dalvik x3), reinstalled the Froyo from zip on card, it got stuck in a boot loop at the TB flash screen, and kept going back through booting to the TB flash.

What is the reason for this? Am I now stuck with using GB ROMs? From reading other posts, people have gone back and forth without issues, but I can't seem to reinstall the Froyo ROM.

So, I reinstalled the Synergy until I can figure out where I am going wrong with the reinstall of my Froyo.

Any help / suggestions?

Thank you.

That I did not do. At first, I left the Froyo radio intact, as I was receiving signal after installing the GB ROM, but then I flashed a GB radio, which I probably didn't even need to do.

But, the GB radio I flashed (1.39.00.0528 / 0.01.69.0602) would be good for the Froyo, but you are indicating that is not the case.

I will try that to see if it solves my issue.

Thank you

also, when you flash froyo back, are you restoring a backup or flashing a froyo rom? if you are flashing a rom, then you will need to wipe data as well as the caches. I noticed that you said that you wiped the caches but nothing about data. that may be your problem.
