Root Confirmation

I just rooted(?) my HTC One (Telus) by unlocking the bootloader and then using this superboot: Superboot - HTC One root solution [requires s-off] - xda-developers.

The problem is.. I dont know if it is actually rooted or not. The purpose of rooting my HTC One was to install downloaded .apk and cache data so I could run apps that way. Turns out I have no idea how to achieve that. Help please?

I don't understand the last part but if you want to check your root status you can download any of the "root checking" applications on Playstore.

You don't need to root to install downloaded .apk. Its called side loading and you could go to settings security and check Install from Unknown source

Just download root checker and run the app to see if you have root.

Just look in your app drawer, you should have Superuser SuperSU app
It looks like you need s-off for the superboot to work. Did you gain s-off?
