Root for EA28?

I have been able to use one click root or use the commands to root until this update. The superuser app is there....it even says install failed root because it already exists. However it basically says I am not rooted when I try to start titanium bu or wireless tethering. To be honest the only reason I root is for those two apps. I like having the every now and then convenience of being able to tether when I am remote for work.

Any ideas on why it appears to be rooted but it is not? I did click the problems button in tbu to download busybox but that still did not work.

Thanks!

ea28? really? EB01!! froyo!! no one is spending time doing stuff for ea28, i dont think there is a root for ea28. you could always flash back to dj09 and root that.

Follow Droidxcon's EB01 thread instructions. It is actually easier than flashing back and re-rooting DL09. I've done both. EB01 comes pre-rooted in his method.

I rooted EA28 so it can be done. You just have to do it manually. Via the ADB commands. and be patient after running the ./rage.bin exploit.

I couldn't get it to work with one-click but when I typed the commands in it worked.

I will say this again and I have said this in the past that it took forever......28 minutes or so. I knew it started working when my clock on my phone stopped changing time, which was about 7 minutes after running the ./rage.bin exploit. Then 28 minutes later it spawned like 3000 children or something like that and it kicked me back to the command prompt and and it was rooted. (I did have to remove Lookout mobile security to root it wouldn't work till I took that off for some reason) I don't know if it's my old computer for it taking so long or because I have an a**load of apps on my phone but if your patient enough it will work.

EA28 IS one clickable!

I was able to root EA28, but was unable to at first. Tried several times.

The first time I hooked the phone up to my computer it said it installed drivers. The second time I hooked up the phone it said it installed drivers.

I happened to hook up my phone while off and when I powered it up I got a Verizon/Samsung dialogue box that said it was installing drivers, only option was to cancel. Progress bar went pretty slow and almost seemed like it was hung up at the end, but I waited it out.

Tried 'One Click' method again and root success!

Something screwball in the driver installs I guess.?.!

I had issues the first time I tried to root the EA28 also. Verizon has changed something on the new phones and instead of it adding the phone and SD card as a drive on the computer it is some proprietary file that tries to load and take you to their website, I think at one point it called it like a bootlaucher or something. The second time i tried with a different port it worked for me better then the first time I used it with the first version of the Facinate.

Now if i can figure out how to load ClockWork Mod on this new phone I will be great. Anyone know how to get me to Froyo from here??

Of the 6 how do i know which one to choose??

stock has all samsung and verizon bloatware

debloated has removed verizon bloatware and deodexed which allows you to flash themes

superclean 2.4 has removed verizon stuff / and samsung touchwiz and has custom tweaks

the rest are just there for people who want to go back and experiment with the older versions of superclean but 2.4 is most complete

Probably going to be a dumb question, but the 2.4 removed the samsung touchwiz.....which is what part exactly??

touchwiz includes the launcher, like the dock at the bottom with the 4 icons, that has been removed and replaced with the Android open source project (AOSP) launcher. also the app drawer is the vertical 3D drawer and the puzzle lock screen has been removed.

So is there some sort of password lock for the phone still then? I have to have it on my phone still.....
Also, If I load 2.4 will i be able to go back to a different version if I dont like it by just reflashing it the same way just with a different one?

couple tips before proceeding
back up contacts to Gmail
do a titanium backup
disable any anitvirus
use USB ports in the back of the computer
try to avoid using a laptop but if you do make sure its plugged into the wall
remember to leave the battery out of the phone during flashing

it actually has been no issues except for the last time I grabbed a wrong file and bricked my phone, and after getting the free replacement, I just wanted to make sure I did it all by the books and wouldnt have any issues this time! :)
