Did you update to 4.4.2 before installing TWRP? I can't run the exploit to install a custom recovery.

Yes I was on the latest version with the new bootloader and it was not an easy process I had 2 methods I had to do about 5 times each to get it to take. Plus the whole process to get into the recovery is irritating but works.

Just wanted to say thank you for pointing me to the XDA thread. I also wanted to note that I rooted so that I could put AdAway on my tablet. I already had AdBlock Plus but wasn't impressed (although it works great on my laptop). After rooting successfully I tried to download AdAway but couldn't get it (or anything to download). Turns out that because AdBlock Plus required a proxy setting for my wi-fi I had to reset that to "none" in order to download anything or see new files in Dropbox. Just a heads up if anyone is in the same situation.

Veeeeeeery late response, but could you tell me what did you do? I've my G Pad (4.4.2) rooted, but i'm getting nowhere when trying to install TWRP etc...
