Root Sprint GS3 4.4.2 Question

So I read the guide and watched a few videos, It's been a while since my last LG was rooted.
I understand I can't use the CWM recovery tar mentioned on the sticky guide (thanks for all the good information!), so I downloaded CWM Ver 6.0.4.5.img from their website: https://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager and then used Cabooni's app to convert it to a tar.md5 file.
I downloaded TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip from the Root guide above, and have the Odin V3.09 already installed.
Before I start flashing away I like to make sure these are the right files I need to root my galaxy GS3 for Sprint Kit Kat 4.4.2.

Hi Herduc, any luck rooting the spring gs3? I have the same model with the kit kat update.

I was able to install cwm recovery and flash teamepicv5, but did not get fully rooted, may be is not the same file to root for the kitkat update. I like to know if anyone has it root for kitkat but haven't had much help so far. Sorry

Use Towelroot. It should work for you, it worked for me
