I am a first-time Android user, let me start by saying I LOVE my phone... not so thrilled with StraightTalk. I've had my LG Optimus Q (model LGL55C) for about a month now, and I can't imagine an easier introduction to the Android platform that this phone's given me. Dealing with StraightTalk and their non-existent tech staff, however... *shudder*twitch*

Being a bit of a techie-nerd, I can recognize and appreciated what this phone's capabilities are, and it's driving me BATTY to be stuck at the carrier-imposed limits. Soooo... I'm itching to root this puppy. My problem lies here: I've never performed a root function on a phone before, and although I'm confident enough in my (armchair/ weekend) technical savvy to research a solution... there's just not much of anything written about this phone. Hell, it even took me 30 minutes to find any mention of it on the MANUFACTURER'S website! (I thought a search keyword consisting of the model number was pretty straightforward, but I thought wrong...)
What I need is some guidance from somebody who's sucessfully rooted this phone before to tell me how easy it was, and what an incredible difference it made in the performance... and, oh yeah, what an intelligent decision I'm making to risk turning my favorite toy into a chewtoy for my mastiff and/or 1-year old. :-\ SOMEBODY please be my hero! lol
