Sup everyone, I just joined this forum because I'm tired of listening to everyone on youtube about rooting your phone and when you do something its almost too late..I recently rooted my phone and I updated my phone to 4.1.2 which was previously 4.1.1 because I kept getting that annoying update on my phone. I did the update manually and backed up everything on my internal hd on my phone also. The update works but my phone is no longer rooted!! I plugged my usb cable into my computer to see if the files are still on my phone and they are which is a good thing i guess. So my issue is how can I access those files so that my phone is rooted again? I did the volume up+power+menu screen and the only thing i have access to is my sdcard, reboot system, apply update, and some other ..this is in system recovery. So how can i access the files so my phone is rooted again

were you rooted when you updated? did you do the update OTA (Over The Air)? almost all the time an update OTA will fail. just trying to see what state your phone was in when you went to 4.1.2

I followed Skunk's procedure to do a "dirty" flash of MB1 (from MA6), and everything's working fine. I still have root.

If you still have custom recovery you can just reflash team epic root from recovery and be good to go. If you don't have custom recovery, you will have to use Odin to flash recovery back on your phone and the reflash team epic.

Im having the same issues when I try to re root to get back the custome recovery it tells me that it failed in the recovery any more help would be awsome if it woild be easyer u could call me to explain

You can't flash root of custom recovery from stock recovery. Flashing team epic root from recovery must be flashed in custom recovery.

You will have to install custom recovery with Odin. See my guide to root.
