Sorry my head is spinning I just can't seem to find a good answer anywhere, phone is on 1.5 rooted time to go up to 2.1 is there a good guide for this? I find plenty of guides for rooting 2.1, that all assuming you already have 2.1, I'm leery about just upgrading OTA through sprint and messing something up. Then I assume sprint is will give me the .6 version then I'd have to downgrade to the .5, I would think there is an easier way. Little green on Andriod, I rooted it, but that was sometime ago, never did anything more from that point.

If you currently have a rooted phone, then just flash one of serveral ROMs that are based off of the official RUU 2.1 -- HoneyBun being one of them.

I'm using this one VillainROM Forums • View topic - VillainROM 12.0.0 FINAL WWE Android 2.1 Release. It's good as far as I'm concerned, sticks very close to the standard 2.1 rom, if you don't like too much change.

Dont forget to backup first (Titanium backup is good for this) as you will need to wipe your data first.

Good luck.

My apologies, the HoneyBun ROM is for CDMA Hero.

Unless I'm mistaken, the OP has a Sprint Hero, so Darchenwar44 was correct in the ROM posted. If you do indeed have a sprint hero, do NOT use the ROM Kermagod posted, as it's for the GSM Hero, and could (likely will) brick your phone

i would use Honeybun or IcedHoneybun available here on the forum from our very own beezy420. he keeps his ROMS very close to stock without all the bloatware, and is always there if you need support.

Sorry, I didn't know this and I'm in the UK on gsm. Hope I didn't cause any problems.

Next time I'd better do a bit of research before I try and help.

Nah no harm done, I'm still really new to the andriod stuff, but I've flashed phone before and that one things you ALWAYS check.

Found a .5 version, updated and rooted, nandriod, disable updates, and all set.

Thank you all very much for chiming in, I'll go back to mostly lurking and reading.
