Hi All

ok, I have rooted and installed TrickDroid_GE_1.0.0 with great results, I am really liking the rom (after 5 hours of use) its cleaner and shows off android far better.. this is what i was after from day one...

Here are my questions:

1. Updates to the ROM - I assume that to update my OS on the phone, if any become available, I will need to reflash a new rom, is this correct?
2. Following on from Q1, what the best way to 'clone' my phone to enable swift restores after reflashing a new rom..? nothing huge, just mms, apps, emails and any settings, Videos and music can be replaced easy enough.
3. My android is Rooted - Do i need to add any new levels of protection..? am I open to any dangers?

Thanks all.

1. Since you're rooted, you'll need to install a stock version of Google Edition (as long as your device's MID and CID matches that of the GE ones) in order to receive the OTA update; OR you can wait for someone on XDA to upload the system dump and then someone else to make it into a ROM, and I vouch for the latter option.

2. I'd say TitaniumBackup since you're already rooted and probably will root the newer version of the ROM. If not, then just search "Backup" on PlayStore and you'll find dozens of applications that do that. None of them worked well for me when it came to home screen settings, application settings, email accounts and such except for TitaniumBackup.

3. Any device connected to the internet is always at risk, but it doesn't matter if you're rooted or not, so to answer your question in short, NO you aren't "more" prone to risks than if you were stock, or at least I don't think so. It'll all depend on your usage and the websites you visit, if you regularly visit porn sites (or similar) then yes there may be a risk involved, however if you play it on the safe side you have nothing to worry about - Android knows how to handle itself.
