So I'll start this with a short preamble. I'm still semi noob to all this, It seems every forum I go to, everyone is jerks to new people. How can you learn if noone will do anything but make scathing remarks to you? I read threads and search alot but sometimes it's not enough.
This forum is the one exception though. Everyone here is great. I've read millions of threads but still feel my knowledge is woefully incomplete.
Anyways, to my first problem. I successfully rooted a few days ago and I've been noticing a weird problem with battery life. When my battery level gets down to around 20% it doesn't move anymore just stays there, then after a while (say another 20 mins of screen on time) the screen will flicker a bit then the phone just dies. I have to pull the battery then plug into a charger and reboot. After reboot battery will be at 0%. It seems like I'm just getting an inaccurate battery reading. I'm rooted, unlocked with CWMR, and running stock 4.1.2.
Is this a known side effect or an anomaly? It's happened twice now. I searched and didn't find anything so I'm posting. I figure things like this kinda just go with the territory but a solution would be nice.
Also, can anyone recommend a good ROM to try for a first timer? I badly wanna try something new, I'm just slightly hesitant. Even though I've read hundreds of threads, I still haven't tried it yet.
After I flash one, if I decide I want to return to stock. I can just do a restore from the CWMR backup I did and it will return me to stock still with my Root and unlocked bootloader intact right? As long as I do a CWMR backup to my ext SD first?
Thanks in advance for your patience with a new guy.
