Root alone doesn't give apps access to ex sdcard. You now (due to root access) can change the permissions to your liking.I have galaxy S5 Lollipop 5.0 just rooted and Root Checker says successful but I still dont have writing access to my SD Card.
I try to download torrents to my SD and it doesn't allow me?
What's wrong?

Alot of different ways. Manually editing the build prop file. Or maybe easiest is to download the "Wanam app" from Play store and activate "SD card permissions". Or install Xposed framework and search for any sdcard permission module within it (but I think Wanam is easier for you) and activate it.
Well the Xposed framework Alpha does work okay on LL actually (just not on TW based ROMs).Xposed doesn't work on Lollipop yet.
