Rooted evo 4g can not delete anything?

Please someone help me. I spent 8 hours learning how to root my EVO and now none of the apps from the market will delete any stock/pre installed apps, I have tried, SU, terminal emulator and another popular one but after I hit delete the apps are still there, even after I turn the phone off and on again.

Otherwise any changes you make to /system will not actually change anything.
