I have a rooted X, I was curious how do I remove the annoying Verizon apps?

Also, is it possible to put KitKat on an X?

You can use an app called Titanium Backup to freeze or delete the apps. I would freeze first to see how the phone reacts. I would also highly suggest making a Nandroid backup in your custom recovery before deleting anything else.

As for putting KitKat on the X, now that you are rooted, it will be difficult, if possible. And even then root will be broken.

Non rooted should be up to date on all carriers I think.
