Rooted, need to put Facebook back

Still need help. Called Sprint, they told me to take it to a Sprint store tomorrow. Any easier way to fix the Froyo OTA install problem other than shlepping over there?

I would download the RUU from this link and apply it to your phone. Assuming there isn't something else screwed up with your phone then this should take you directly to 2.2 without any issues. However, once this is done you will need to re-root.

I would advise that once you are on a rooted 2.2 system you make a nandroid backup before making any changes whatsoever. This way, if you screw the pooch you can restore easily.

FYI... You need to run this from a Windows box and you will need HTC Sync installed. The thread should contain all the answers you need.

This is why I froze the bloatware instead of uninstalling it. If something is amiss, I can just defrost it.

I'm trying to read and follow this thread and i can easily fix the htcfacebook.apk issue but im lost due to some fragmentation of the thread.

Who has what issue? What version of android (is it froyo or eclair)?

This is really a simple fix i just need to know who needs what and for what lol

In a nutshell, this is what happened:
I was told to flash old 2.1 ROM, I did.
Couldn't get OTA update back to 2.2.
Did a factory restore, STILL couldn't get OTA back to 2.2.
Called Sprint, told me to come to store after not being able to push it to me.
Sprint didn't have the manual method, so sent me on my way to do it on my computer.
Got link to the .6 build RUU of Froyo, installed that.

So now I'm back to where I was before I rooted my phone (well, sorta, I have to put all my settings back and reinstall. Funny how internal storage showed 200 MB free after all the restoring of apps, but was down to 150 MB before this whole mishegas started).

I would like to know how to fix it. I am running a custom ROM on a 2.2 build froyo. The ROM I downloaded doesn't have the htcfacebook installed in the build and I would like to add that if possible to sync my contact with. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What rom did you install?

Did you just grab facebook from the market, that will sync with contacts as well.
