Rooted Nexus 4, should I update to Kitkat?

Ok, so I have a rooted Nexus 4 running fine. If I update will this wipe anything or just install and leave my apps and settings as they were? I have read of people having update issues and some people having to send their phone back. Should I update with ota? should it be safe? I lost the radio on my last Nexus 4 after an update so don't want to be in the same situation.

Lol. I still remember everyone not wanting to update from 4.2.2 to 4.3 and now all of a sudden 4.3 is the chitz.
