So I've got an HTC One that'srooted, and now it says "The su binary is out of date", and presumably wants me to update it. Touching it from the notification area brings me to a menu that says:

"The Superuser binary (su) must be updated.

Please choose an installation method.
Recovery mode installation is recommended for HTC devices."

All well and good... what the hell do I do here? Touching Recovery Install brings me to the TeamWIN recovery, where I am completely lost. I've got no idea how to update this.

Please explain how to do this to me as if I were the biggest noob ever.I really don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks!

its probably expecting Clockwork Mod recovery.

You can either install it do the update and install TeamWin again.

Or try the regular install method

Thank you for that post completely devoid of anything I can use. Anybody else have something worth adding?

Why because you choose not to ask how to do it? If you need additional help I'm fine with it. Being a d**k isn't necessary as I'm just trying to help you. Your call though. And obviously if there is an option that I am not aware of please by all means someone jump in.

"Additional" help would mean you provided any to start. Your lack-of-info "update it and install" is of no use to me, as I already stated I don't have a clue what I am doing here.

FYI - I have moved this thread to the http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one-rooting-roms-hacks/ section in order to put it in front of a more development centric set of eyes.

As a friendly reminder, please keep conversations civil and on-topic. If you have an issue with a post, please either ignore it and move on or if you feel it violates the forum rules, please let us know via the report button. Thanks!

He actually did tell you what to do. When you get the popup just select normal and it should update.

So he did... well, now I'm a jerk. Looks like an apology is in order here, so please accept mine. Understandably I don't want to brick something I paid a lot of money for. I do apologize, I was kind of a tard, and you didn't deserve that. :(

So, when I go into recovery, what is the file I'm supposed to flash?

Normally once you accept the request from Super user or SuperSU to update you pick the TWRP method.

From there it will either automatically boot into recovery or you will have to do it manually.

Normally once you try to reboot system (leave recovery) it will say you need to update super user and it will flash the update.

I'm using CWM, and when I select the option, the phone boots into Clockwork, but then I don't know what to do. I'm just wandering around CWM looking for a file called binary update or something similar. So are you saying that I should just let the phone boot into recovery, then select the option, reboot phone now, then it will prompt me to update something?

Ok. So I tried it again, and this time when it booted into CWM, it started installing an update, but it says, ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? Do I select yes?
