Rooted TB....ready for new ROM

I've recently rooted my TB...I'm now looking to put a new ROM in. I plan on using Rom Manager...My question is, When I do a wipe data and cache, how do I get my old apps back. Won't wiping also get rid of titanium? Also, will I lose superuser? I do have everything backed on Titanium....Thanks for your help in advance.

After loading your new ROM, when you go through the initial setup you'll have to provide your Google account information - once you do that and connect to the Google Play Store it'll automatically start downloading your apps. You can then restore anything that you want with TB.
There's also a way, using TB, that you can create an update.zip that includes TB and any other stuff that you want and you can flash that update.zip from within Clockwork so that it's all there when your new ROM comes up.

SU will 'come back' if you load a rooted ROM - all rooted ROMs include SU. But if you were to use Clockwork to flash the stock ROM then when you booted back up you'd no longer be rooted (i.e. no SU).

Question....i upgraded to RM prem. I already flashed clockworkmod recovery and backed up my current rom with the free version. Do I need to redo this process now that I have prem. or is it still ok?

You should be okay since you saved it before. All rom manager does is save it to your sdcard and make easier to wipe your device. You can access your backup by using a file manager as well.

Thanks for all your help everyone. My phone is now rooted and I'm running URBaN NoNSenSe ROM. Everything is redownloaded and running smooth so far. I do have one quick question though. If I want to change to a diff ROM, I shouldn't do another rom backup should I. That would end up erasing my orig. rom. correct? All I need to do is just go in and flash a new rom and continue on correct? Thanks again for all your help...

If you browse your SD card you should see a folder "/clockworkmod/backup" where the backups are saved. Each backup is auto-named with the date appended to it, so making a new backup DOES NOT delete previous ones. You can technically make as many backups as your SD card will hold, however if you do it often, it is a good idea to delete old backups every now and then as they do tend to be large files that take up considerable space.

Generally, I tend to make a backup before I install any new ROM, just in case something goes wrong and I need to revert quickly. I also generally go in and delete older backups from time to time to free up space on my card. Truth be told, once a backup is more than a few weeks/months old, it's not really worth restoring anymore anyway.

I don't use ROM Manager, so your procedure may vary, but when ever you flash a new ROM, your basic sequence should be something like this:
1. Go to Google Market and update all apps to latest version (unless you have a specific reason not to)
2. Backup with Titanium and My Backup as needed (see my tutorial in my signature for more on this)
3. Download ROM
4. Boot into CWM Recovery
5. Backup current ROM in Recovery
6. Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data/factory reset
7. Install new ROM
8. Reboot
9. Sign into Google, allow Market to download and install all apps
10. Restore needed data with Titanium and/or My Backup

Thanks for your advise. I do use titanium and mybackup, I was mainly concerned with my original Rom just in case anything happened and I needed to go back to original and unroot. There are so many out there, that's it's not a very easy question to answer -- but I suppose that's a good thing. There really is almost a ROM out there to fill everyone's needs.

If you want a Sense based ROM, I'm still a big fan of BAMF forever, even though it is a bit older:

I'm a fan of this ROM because most of the builtin features of the stock OS work with it, such as the Verizon apps and Mobile Hotspot.

Another piece of advice I would give to is not just limit yourself to ROMs available via ROM Manager app. Installing ROMs manually in CWM is pretty straight forward -- and I believe there is also a sticky on "how to" do that in this subforum as well...

Not really. Most ROM devs will list any feature that aren't working, so you want to be sure to check that before installing to make sure there's nothing missing that you may need. This phone has been out for quite a while though and has had a lot of dev support, so most ROMs are pretty stable at this point.
