Rooted VZW S3, Need to install Custom Recovery but can't.

Hello all,

I have a VZW S3 with 4.4.2, and I rooted it a few weeks ago with TowelRoot. I've been trying to install a recovery for weeks but cannot seem to do it. I've used Rom Manager, Goo Manager, and the TWRP app also. When I try to install via Rom Manager (any recovery), it says that it's successfully installed but when I try to boot into recovery mode to check, I get the verizon message and have to restart my phone. Can anyone help me please? I've looked on Google but can't seem to figure this out, thanks.
