Rooting a 2.2 Desire?

I'm growing an interest for rooting, as I feel there's more I can do with my already awesome phone. Therefore, I'm wondering if there are any easy ways of rooting a Desire with 2.2? I'm thinking something along the lines of the one-click UnrEVOked method. This is an insanely popular phone in Europe at least, so there's got to be someone doing some work in this department, eh? Cheers!

I don't think rooting on 2.2 has been established yet, at least I couldn't find anything about it over at XDA.

Now its possible, take a look at several howtos in xda, you have to do a downgrade of the Hboot.

I rooted my 2.2 Desire using Unrevoked3 and it worked perfectly! So glad that I did as I am loving being able to load a different ROM whenever I feel like it If anyone is a little unsure of how to do it check out TheDroidDemos.com he has a how to video on rooting the desire, and how to load ROM's, etc. Really good if yo are a visual learner.

Try this method. Carefully follow the directions in post 3 and 4. Those are the directions I used to root my Desire. Very easy to follow step by step directions.

Just rooted my desire using Unrevoked3 and it worked perfect and also followed the video guides on TheDroidDemos.com. Very easy to do no problems..

Just rooted my Desire following these instructions, using Amon Ra as the recovery img,
Very easy to do,just read the info, and follow the steps carefully.
It only took about 10 minutes.

HTC Desire Rooting Problems

Hey guys,

I have been trying to root my HTC Desire for about a month. I have had one big problem with the rooting process. In this video: YouTube - ‪How to Install hboot Drivers for Android‬‏ , while installing the hboot drivers, after I plugged my phone into my computer, the phone should be recognized under "Other Devices" on the computer options. The video says that I should see "Android 1.0" under the Other Devices tab, but the Other Devices tab isn't even showing up. Any suggestions for me?

Also, I have uninstalled all HTC related programs (i.e. HTC Sync).

Please let me know if there's anything that I can do to fix this.
