rooting and lost apps

First I'm confused as h@#$ as to how i root my phone and I must have done something wrong because now I can't download a few app I had before I hard reset the phone ie angry birds and now I can't seem to move any apps to the SD card even if the option is available to do so if any one can help me out it would be greatly appreciated thanks
