rooting and the app store

ok...so my buddy rooted his EVO and now has some problems with a few apps not showing up in the app store. I know this has something to do with the phone now showing a proper "foot print" to the app store and not allowing some apps to be downloaded, but I know there is some work around for this. I just can't seem to find an easy answer to how to do this.

Has anyone rooted and done this for the EVO that can provide some step by step guidance for those of us that want to root and still use the app store.

Your buddy needs to now flash the rom discussed HERE. Last i heard this had some bugs but fixed the market issue but thats now your's/his job to investigate.

EDIT - Pretty sure THIS would fix the market issue as well and is being written and supported by 2 top notch dev's. If i were him id probably go this route.
