Has anyone come across how to root the HTC Aria with the new firmware 2.2.2 that was available thru HTC about a month ago? Been looking all over and havent seen anything on it yet...thanks!

You are out of luck. The HTC update is not rootable using current software methods. There is a hardware device that can be used to S-OFF the Aria so that you can root and there may be a service offered in the near future that utilizes that device. Look over on XDA-Developers for more information.
i have the same issue. my cousin showed me his nexus s with cyanogenmod 7 and it looked amazing and i need to figure out if at all there is ANY way to root htc aria running 2.2. I already have S-OFF, what is the next step
