Rooting Desire 2.1 (US Cellular)

Has anyone rooted a US Cellular Desire? I just got mine the other day and I would like to install 2.2 on it and root.

I am more than willing to experiment with this phone (it's not my primary). Does anyone know if installing the froyo rom for the Vodofone Desire is any different than installing it for USCC?

I just got this phone as my first Android and would also like to root it. I don't really know that much about it but I think the reason the way to do the other desire doesn't work is bc they were gsm. The uscc version that we have is cdma. Since your trying stuff, try using the methods for other cdma HTC android phones like the incredible.

Hello. I, too just purchased a new Desire from USCC. Does anyone know when the 2.2 update will be available for it, and why it is taking so long to get? I have traded in my Crackberry for a new, more modern machine, but I am wondering if trading my service provider is also in order...
