Rooting my Evo from start to finish

I apologize in advance if this was already asked, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I've had my EVO Design for about 3 months now, but I've just got interested in rooting it. The problem is I have absolutely no idea how to do it. If someone could explain, post links, and dumb it down for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
